2012 HONDA CIVIC FOR SALE AT CLARINGTON HONDA AUTO POWERHOUSE LOCATED IN CLARINGTON, EAST OF TORONTO

At Clarington Honda located in Durham, within the GTA on highway 401 in Bowmanville. The 2012 Civic is all new in style and specification, the first such sweeping changes since model-year 2006. It’s roomier and boasts two models rated at more than 40 mpg on the highway. And Honda keeps prices in check. It holds increases to just $100 on the most popular model, the LX sedan, which alone accounts for 50 percent of Civic sales. Prices actually drop on some models, including the upscale EX versions, which account for 30 percent of sales. The 2012 Honda Civic inaugurates the ninth-generation of the automobile that owes much of its success to class-leading style and refinement. However, with only modestly updated looks and few fresh features to set it apart from tough new rivals, the redesigned 2012 Civic may no longer be the unquestioned small-car benchmark.

In the Sedan’s case, you make the body-in-white stiffer, 7 percent lighter and with a slightly shorter wheelbase (105.1 in. versus 106.3 for its predecessor), yet increase overall interior volume by 3.7 cu. ft. Shoulder room is up by 2.9 in., and rear leg room is increased by 1.6 in. The Coupe has fractionally less interior volume than before, but with similar increases in shoulder- and rear leg room. You also make it more fuel-efficient, with the 1.8-liter i-VTEC 4-cylinder having nearly the same output as before (140 bhp, 128 lb.-ft. of torque) but improved mileage: 28 mpg city/39 mpg hwy. That’s done with higher-efficiency catalysts, friction-reducing coatings and altered valve timing on the 2-stage VTEC, but the Civic still uses a 5-speed automatic and port fuel injection. Honda says that going to a 6-speed and direct injection could vault it into the 40-mpg range, but deemed it not worth the extra cost. For the hypermiling frugalista, there’s the HF model whose coefficient of drag is lowered by 4.4 percent through flush wheels, aero underbody/gas tank covers and a rear lip spoiler. These changes, plus a tire choice that yields a 20-percent reduction in rolling resistance, give the HF a rating of 29 mpg city/41 mpg hwy.

Want higher mileage still? The Civic Hybrid now achieves 44 mpg city/44 mpg hwy, thanks to reduced friction in its 1.5-liter gasoline engine, a switch from nickel/metal-hydride batteries to lithium-ion with nearly three times the capacity, and a lighter (yet more powerful) motor that runs cooler and with less internal resistance. In a mileage competition at the car’s introduction, one journalist achieved just over 60 mpg over a 10-mile loop. But going 40 mph on the expressway with, er, “gesturing” truckers streaming past on either side is not recommended for the daily commute. The CNG model continues too, with compressed natural gas filling stations preprogrammed in the optional navigation system.

You’ve heard of active headrests that use the force of a rearward-moving body to pivot forward, to better cradle the head in a rear-end impact? Well, Honda achieves the same anti-whiplash effect by carefully slitting the seat foam and arranging its support springs so that the occupant sinks into the seat more and meets the headrest, rather than the headrest moving forward. The Civic’s electric-assist power steering, working in conjunction with the yaw-control system, will gently tug the steering wheel in the direction needed to counter a slide. And inside the interior—a cleanly modernized version of its former self—what Honda calls its i-MID (Intelligent Multi-Information Display) is standard on all but the base Civic DX model. Its 5-in. color LCD display can toggle through music, nav, trip meter and hands-free phone displays via buttons on the steering wheel.

For 2012, Honda gives the 2.0-liter i-VTEC the heave-ho and puts a 2.4-liter i-VETC engine in its place. With 201 bhp and 170 lb.-ft. of torque (the latter figure a quantum leap from the 2.0’s 139 lb.-ft.), the new engine lacks a bit of its predecessor’s high-end yelp, but more than compensates with its super-strong midrange twist. Superimpose the old/new torque curves on a graph, and it’s foothills versus mountains. And the sounds are glorious—growl, rasp and shriek can be had in a single sweep of the tach needle.

True to the Civic Si Concept that bowed at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year, the new production Si evolves the “one-motion” design theme of its forebear, with a more angular nose, a mesh grille, chiseled no-flab body sides and a rear spoiler with two vents near its center. The concept’s 19-in. wheels do give way to 17-in. alloys with the same basic styling, shod with Michelin Pilot Exalto tires, size 215/45-17. The overall look is ripped, leaner and angrier, and the greenhouse gets fixed panes ahead of the side-door glass, and thinner A-pillars for improved forward visibility. As with the last Si, both 2-door coupe and 4-door sedan body styles are offered, and the interior carries forward with the controversial double-tier instrument panel. The tachometer looks a little lonely, swimming around in the large lower recess, but the addition of sequential shift lights backs up the sportiness of the grippy, amply bolstered seats and red-stitched steering wheel leather.

We predict 6-second 0-60 times, and quarter-mile clockings in the high 14s. Honda is also claiming improved highway mileage, estimated at 31 mpg. And it’s a hoot to drive, as we found on an autocross course that Honda set up for us. Handling is crisp, with flatter cornering and a firmer ride than I remember from the last Si. Steering weights up nicely as the corner tightens and torque steer is almost a non-issue—impressive as there’s so much more torque. And the 6-speed’s shifter is simply one of the best on the planet.

2011 HONDA ODYSSEY FOR SALE AT CLARINGTON HONDA AUTO POWERHOUSE LOCATED IN BOWMANVILLE, ONTARIO, EAST OF TORONTO

At Clarington Honda located in Durham, east of Toronto on highway 401. Honda’s cylinder-deactivating, 3.5-liter V-6 is now standard across the lineup, with output up 4 hp and 5 lb-ft of torque, thanks to a two-stage intake and reduced internal and accessory losses. Apparently not content with offering a single powertrain for all Odysseys, Honda has introduced an additional forward gear ratio—for a total of six—for the Touring and new top-spec Touring Elite. The six-speed’s wider spread helps wring a bit more out of the engine and, along with some Touring-specific aerodynamic massagery, grants the models a 1-mpg advantage in EPA ratings over the five-speed-equipped LX and EX models. All 2011 Odysseys gain a pretty notable 2-to-4 mpg in EPA city and highway figures.

The dash layout is cleaner, simpler, and more symmetrical, and the gear selector has been moved down slightly. Thoughtful touches include the aforementioned removable center console—its deployable trash-bag ring provides a destination for empties from the 15 bottle and cup holders—and a cooling box at the base of the center stack.
The second row’s center seat is four inches wider and can be slid toward the front seats for more meaningful parent-child interaction. Folding the center section is less of a hassle, as this operation no longer requires the removal of the seat-bottom cushion, and there also are three cup holders in the seatback-as-armrest that result. Meanwhile, the outboard chairs can be repositioned doorward to initiate “wide mode,” allowing for three-across American adults or a trio of kid seats. An easier-to-operate Magic Seat mechanism makes stowing either side of the 60/40 split third row a one-yank operation.

Honda has adjusted the trim-level offerings for 2011 Odyssey as well, killing the EX-L model with navigation and rear entertainment and adding the Touring Elite model at the top of the range. Base LX models do without the new front center console and instead pack a pair of floor-mounted cup holders; they also lack the second-row center seat and therefore seat only seven. Moving to the EX brings the console and the eighth seat; it also features power sliding doors and power lumbar for the driver’s seat. The EX-L adds leather, the cooling box, a USB audio interface, and Bluetooth. There’s still an EX-L with rear entertainment and one with navigation and a rearview camera. But to know where you’re going while being able to entertain the kids in back, it’s necessary to move up to the Touring model, which includes the six-speed transmission, parking sensors, a center armrest for the third row, and third-row sunshades. The top-spec Touring Elite—or what we like to think of as the Acura of minivans—adds a 12-speaker, 5.1-channel surround-sound system; the 16.2-inch widescreen rear monitor (it can display two inputs side by side); an HDMI input; HID headlights; and a blind-spot monitoring system.

2011 HONDA RIDGELINE FOR SALE AT CLARINGTON HONDA AUTO POWERHOUSE LOCATED IN DURHAM, EAST OF TORONTO

At Clarington Honda located in Durham, within the GTA on highway 401 in Bowmanville. The 2011 Ridgeline continues with the single crew-cab body and 5-foot-long cargo bed. Ridgeline’s lockable compartment hides a functional 8.5 cubic feet of storage space. The 2011 Ridgeline also is the only pickup with a dual-action tailgate; it hinges down and opens to the side. Ridgeline’s sedan-like greenhouse and low hood line also defy old-school pickup custom. The high-hat cab pays off with full-size-pickup-caliber front-seat room and with rear-seat accommodations that go far beyond those of any compact pickup and into midsize-SUV territory. And while the sloping hood line and nerdy grille erase any notion of fist-in-your face styling, they pay off in great forward visibility. The 2011 Ridgeline returns in four levels of trim: base RT, better-equipped RTS, leather-upholstered RTL, and top-line RTL with navigation. There’s little to differentiate them visually, though the RTS has 17-inch alloy wheels and body-color trim to the RT’s 17-inch steel wheels and dark trim. And RTLs have 18-inch alloy wheels and fog lamps.

The 2011 Ridgeline continues its renegade ways as the only pickup with front and rear independent suspension. Borrowing some of the engineering acumen Honda applies to its similarly size Pilot crossover SUV, Ridgeline’s independent suspension gives it the sharpest handling and most compliant ride of any small truck. Conventional wisdom says a separate frame and a solid rear axle are essential for good load-carrying ability, but credit Honda with providing Ridgeline a payload capacity of around 1,500 pounds, among the best of any compact crew cab. Just as the cab and bed choice is one-size-fits-all, so is Ridgeline’s allegiance a single powertrain -- and that’s unchanged for 2011. The sole engine/transmission combo is the same 250-horsepower 3.5-liter V-6 and five-speed automatic found in the Pilot. Acceleration is lively and smooth. Like Pilot – but unlike any other pickup -- Ridgeline is essentially a front-wheel-drive vehicle; all other pickups are based on rear-wheel-drive designs. Ridgeline actually comes standard with an all-wheel-drive (AWD) system that normally runs in front-wheel-drive but can redirect power to the rear wheels during acceleration and low-traction conditions. Rival pickups have on-demand four-wheel-drive (4wd) systems that include low-ranging gearing for serious off-road driving.

Ridgeline’s AWD engages automatically on any surface without requiring driver intervention. The 2011 Ridgeline’s 5,000-towing capacity compares favorably with that of any crew-cab V-6 compact pickup. Standard equipment for towing includes an integrated tow hitch, transmission and oil coolers, heavy duty brakes, and dual radiator fans. Also standard are four-wheel disc brakes with antilock capability and for more controlled stops and an antiskid system to mitigate sideways slides.

Standard on each 2011 Ridgeline are head-protecting curtain side airbags for both seating rows; they deploy in side collisions or when sensors detect an impending rollover. Also included on every trim level is a trip computer that calculates instantaneous and average fuel economy; air conditioning; tilt steering wheel; power windows and locks; a power sliding rear window; cruise control; keyless entry; and a 60/40 split lift-up rear seat with under-seat storage. The 2011 Ridgeline RTS adds to the RT alloy wheels; body-color door handles; painted inner grille surfaces; dual-zone automatic climate control; an eight-way power driver’s seat with lumbar support; deep-tint windows; and all-weather floor mats. The 2011 Ridgeline RTL adds to the RTS the 18-inch alloys and fog lights, plus leather upholstery with heated front seats, a moonroof, remote garage-door controls, carpeted floor mats, and a compass in the rearview mirror. A satellite-linked navigation system with voice recognition is available only on the RTL; it includes Bluetooth cell-phone linking and a backup camera. The Ridgeline RT’s audio system is a six-speaker, 100-watt unit with a single-disc CD player. Other 2011 Ridgeline models have a seven-speaker 160-watt system with subwoofer and six-disc in-dash changer, plus steering wheel audio controls and an auxiliary input jack. RTL models add XM satellite radio.

The 2011 Honda Ridgeline fuel-economy ratings are unchanged from 2010 levels. All Ridgelines rate 15/20 mpg city/highway and are tuned to run on 87-octane gas. These figures are about par for a compact crew cab with a V-6 engine and four-wheel drive.

At Clarington Honda located in Durham, east of Toronto on highway 401. Honda Fit is one of the best small cars today. Fit to get extra mileage, inexpensive, and is agile on the road. Fit is a four-door hatchback sold in two tracks: base and Sport.

In 2011 Honda Fit is equipped with a 1.5-litre, 117-horsepower four-cylinder engine that produces 106 pounds-feet of torque. The front wheel of the vehicle came standard with a five-speed manual transmission, but the five-speed automatic transmission is available as an option. In Sport trim, automatic version control of manual shifting via steering wheel mounted paddles. Fit acceleration change Transmission: manual transmission vehicle can accelerate 0-60 mph in 8.9 seconds, but it took 11.0 seconds for automatic versions reach the same speed. Sport models have sharp steering response, while the second model is quite maneuverable because of its small size. Fit gets 28 mpg city and 35 mpg highway.

Hatchback design adds a lot to the rear cargo space. The basic model is equipped with 15-inch steel wheels, halogen lights, and daytime running lights. Sport models have 16-inch alloy wheels, silver, fog lamps, rear spoiler and roof lines. Sport is also available in two colors that are available on the basic model: Blackberry Pearl and the “Orange Revolution”.

2011 Honda Fit interior features a selection of other cars have the same price category. The basic model comes with power accessories, air conditioning, four speakers, audio system with CD player, auxiliary audio input and MP3 compatibility. Sport is also cruise control, upgraded audio system with six speakers, USB port, a substance rich interior, and light maps. On the front seat, there is plenty of room for tall passengers. In the back seat, there are a lot of head and leg room for passengers of all sizes. Fit for light cargo. When the chair is in operation, Fit has 20.4 cubic feet cargo space. Chairs can be folded up to create an impressive 57.3 cubic feet of space. Honda calls the second row “Magic Seat”. We can pass three different ways to go all cargo configurations of different sizes. Ten cup holders, eight storage slots and two hidden compartments that are available for storing small items.

2011 Honda Fit can be equipped with several options. Both models can be equipped with automatic transmission, navigation, portable, or Keyless Entry as an option. The basic model is available with fog lights. Sport models can be purchased with a package that provides navigation along with a vehicle Stability Assist.

The 2011 Honda Fit is one of the best small cars in its price range.

2011 HONDA ACCORD FOR SALE AT CLARINGTON HONDA AUTO POWERHOUSE LOCATED IN BOWMANVILLE, ONTARIO, EAST OF TORONTO

At Clarington Honda located in Durham, within the GTA on highway 401 in Bowmanville. For 2011, there's a new Accord SE sedan that fits between LX Premium and EX models; it includes leather upholstery, heated front seats, a power seat for the driver, leather trim, and 16-inch alloy wheels. Also new for 2011, EX and EX-L models get a USB audio port, and all sedans with the navigation system get a rear-view camera.

This SE model, for one thing. It’s the fifth and middle trim level for the Accord sedan, essentially an LX-P that adds heated leather seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, power lumbar on the driver’s seat, and SE (Special Edition) badging. It is available only with the 177-hp version of Honda’s 2.4-liter iVTEC four-cylinder engine, mated to either a five-speed manual or automatic.

With the 2011 Accord, Honda is upping the ante yet again. With two different 4-cylinder engines available, and one souped-up V6, the 2011 Honda Accord should please those with a need for speed. Five-speed automatic and manual transmissions are available, and all Accords feature front wheel drive. With enhanced fuel economy, it’s safe to say that the 2011 Accord is a definite winner.

The light, assured handling of the Honda Accord, combined with its fuel efficiency and punchy horsepower, makes it a true pleasure to drive. Unlike heavier sedans which feel clunky or awkward when being maneuvered around turns, the 2011 Honda Accord feels as if it is floating above the highway, touching the ground in the most minimal way. The brakes are clean and responsive, and make navigating exceptionally curvy pathways at relatively high speed effortless.

Despite its low price tag, the 2011 Honda Accord is packed to its gills with power. Topnotch engineering gives all three engines plenty of oomph. The 2.3-liter 4-cylinder engine, for instance, gets 177 horsepower; the more finely-tuned 4-cylinder that comes with EX and EX-L sedans - and all coupes - gets 190 horsepower. The 3.5-liter V6 engine produces a whopping 271 horsepower. Five-speed manual (or six-speed manual in the case of the V6) and automatic transmissions get the job done. The second big change is an across-the-board fuel-economy bump for all Accord models—sedan, coupe, inline-four, V-6—with no diminution in power. The auto-equipped four-cylinder sedans are the coffee achievers here, jumping 2 mpg in the city (to 23), 3 mpg on the highway (34), and 2 mpg combined, for a best-in-class blended rating of 27 mpg. In pursuit of these increments, Honda tweaked the front grille and bumper for better aero, lowered oil-ring tension, refined spark timing, and even dumped in lower-viscosity engine oil. But the change with the greatest mpg payoff is a taller fifth gear in all Accords. Careful observers and slushbox defenders will note that auto-trans Accords get better fuel economy than manual-equipped ones. That’s because Honda rightly amps up the gearing on its manual models for performance. Reduced engine frictions through new gear ratios produces much better fuel economy.

Feature-wise the Accord is a mixed bag. LX models of the Honda Accord have no lack of standard features, though you'll need to step up to top EX-L models of the Accord to pack in the luxury features, including dual-zone climate control, leather upholstery, and a sound system with active noise cancellation. A navigation system is also available, and includes Zagat restaurant ratings and voice recognition.

The 2011 Honda CRV model come with added safety features which include the side airbag which inflate to help protect the driver or front passenger’s upper body. Honda took this safety technology a step further than its competitors with its Occupant Position Detection System; if a child is leaning into the deployment path of the side airbag the new sensors deactivate it. Efficient and well-built, 2011 Honda CRV also appeals for relative comfort, refinement, and spaciousness. The CRV feels more like a minivan from the driver’s seat because there is no cramped console wrapping around you. Everything is open and both the passenger and driver have their own armrest hinged on the seats rather than sharing the centre console. The rear seating offers plenty of headroom and legroom as well, and the because of the way the rear seats flip and fold they are also reclinable, which is a nice touch when you are relegated to the rear quarters. The 2011 CRV has a 60/40-split fold-down rear seat that means you don’t have to compromise rear passenger comfort when carrying a passenger and extra long cargo. This creates a greater cargo capacity; both rear seats can be folded forward for hauling larger items. It rides smoothly, without the junky harshness.

2011 HONDA PILOT FOR SALE AT CLARINGTON HONDA AUTO POWERHOUSE LOCATED IN BOWMANVILLE, ONTARIO, EAST OF TORONTO

At Clarington Honda located in Durham, east of Toronto on highway 401. The 2011 Honda Pilot in four levels of trim: basic LX; midline EX; leather-upholstered EX-L; and top-of-the-line Limited. Pilots have four side doors and a top-hinged tailgate with separate-opening glass. Exclusive to Touring models is a power tailgate.

The all-aluminum single-overhead-cam 3.5-liter V-6 is rated at 250 horsepower and 253 pound-feet of torque. The 3.5-liter V-6s in many rivals boast more horsepower, but few beat Pilot’s for torque and none matches Honda’s Variable Cylinder Management (VCM) technology. This automatically transitions between six, four, and three cylinders, with the onboard computer determining which mode best optimizes fuel economy and power requirements. VCM partly compensates for Pilot’s continued use of a five-speed automatic as its sole transmission. All 2011 Pilots continue with a choice of front-wheel drive or Honda’s Variable Torque Management (VTM-4). VTM-4 is an all-wheel-drive system that operates in front drive unless sensors detect front-wheel slip. Then it can temporarily reapportion up to 70 percent of the engine’s power to the rear wheels and automatically return to front-drive when traction is restored. All Pilots have four-wheel disc brakes with anti-lock technology for better control in emergency stops, plus traction and antiskid systems for better grip on takeoffs and improved stability in turns. Pilot’s maximum towing capacity is at the upper end of the scale for V-6 crossover SUVs, with AWD models capable of pulling trailers weighing up to 4,500 pounds and front-drive Pilots able to pull up to 3,500 pounds.

All models have head-protecting curtain side airbags that deploy in side collisions as well as in impending rollovers. Seating is for eight and consists of front buckets and second- and third-row bench seats. The second- and third-row benches each hold three people and Honda’s proud that Pilot is among the few SUVs with anchor positions for four child safety seats – three in the second row and one in the third. Both rear benches split and fold, allowing Pilot to haul a 4-foot-wide plywood sheet laid flat. Folding the third row drops it into a well in the rear floor. The 2011 Pilot is again available with a sunroof and power heated front seats, depending on model. EX-L versions come with a backup camera that projects a rearview image onto a portion of the inside mirror when the transmission is shifted to reverse. Touring and EX-L models with navigation display this view on the dashboard screen.

The 2011 Pilot fights the battle of the bulge. With curb weights ranging from 4,310 to 4,561 pounds. The 2011 Pilot is EPA-rated at 17/23 mpg (city/highway) with front-wheel drive and 16/22 with AWD. Pilot uses regular-octane fuel, though Honda recommends premium-octane when towing trailers weighing more than 3,500 pounds.

2011 HONDA CR-Z FOR SALE AT CLARINGTON HONDA AUTO POWERHOUSE LOCATED IN BOWMANVILLE, ONTARIO, EAST OF TORONTO

At Clarington Honda located in Durham, east of Toronto on highway 401. Enter the CR-Z, the world’s first mass production hybrid sports car.Where the impish CRX used lightness and a stripped-down approach to deliver entertainment and efficiency, the CR-Z looks to a gasoline-electric hybrid powertrain. The difference between the two paths is stark, or so goes conventional wisdom. With less weight and simplicity come fun and momentum-style hoonage, and with a hybrid powertrain comes, well, soul-crushing dullness. Somewhat shockingly, however, this hybrid is entertaining, even as it tries to marry the disparate concepts of sport and efficiency.

Nowhere is that conflict more evident than in the two transmissions. Opt for the six-speed manual, and the CRZ delivers perhaps the most transparent hybrid experience available today, because you control the shift points and how quickly the gears are changed. Particularly with the three-mode adjustable drive system in sport mode, it’s a relatively fun little car.

At 160.6 inches long, the CR-Z is 16 inches longer than the original CRX, but it doesn’t look like that much with the two cars side by side; for modern reference, the CR-Z is an inch shorter than Honda’s own Fit. We measured the bigger Fit at 2500 pounds with a manual, and a CRX Si we tested 25 years ago weighed in at a svelte 1840. Looking a little bit like the CRX, the CR-Z is a two-seat hatchback boasting not much power, but also not much weight. Tipping the scales at a mere 2,637 lbs., it is about 100 lbs. lighter than an Insight. By 2011 standards, the CR-Z is a genuine lightweight. Of course, beyond the hybrid system, the CR-Z includes a boatload of stuff unavailable on the original CRX: airbags, a couple of decades’ worth of crash-worthiness improvements, and doors thicker than a Trapper Keeper, to mention a few. Still, from behind the wheel, you never shake the sense of extra weight.

At the heart of the CR-Z is the 1.5-liter four-cylinder from the Fit, here making 113 hp and 107 lb-ft of torque. It mates to Honda’s Integrated Motor Assist hybrid system as seen in the Insight, which is comprised of a nickel-metal hydride battery pack and a 13-hp electric motor. Combined output stands at 122 hp and 128 lb-ft of torque (123 lb-ft with the CVT). Acceleration isn’t scorching by any means, but the CR-Z doesn’t feel poky like the Fit or Insight. Helping foster that sense is the sport mode, activated via a button to the left of the steering wheel. In sport, throttle sensitivity is increased, the steering tightens, the electric motor provides more assistance on manual-equipped cars, and in CVT models, the “gear ratios” are optimized for acceleration. There are also normal and econ modes, and the latter dulls throttle response, retunes the CVT for fuel-economy gains, turns down the fan speed and minimizes compressor use for the A/C, and reduces power and torque by four percent except in wide-open-throttle situations.

It utilizes a 1.5-liter four-cylinder with variable valve timing (VTEC in Honda-speak), derived from the Honda Fit’s mull, mated here to a 10 kW electric motor. Combined, the two units produce 122 horsepower and 128 lb-ft. of torque when hooked up to the standard six-speed manual transmission (123 lb-ft. with the optional CVT). Like most hybrids, the CR-Z’s engine clicks off at stop lights and provides some boost under acceleration while serving as a generator during braking or coasting.

What it won’t do is move under its own power using only the electric motor. Still, fuel economy is impressive at 35 mpg in the city and 39 mpg on the highway with the CVT, or 31/37 mpg with the stick.

In best hybrid fashion, the instrument panel is designed with the ultimate control freak in mind. The 3D mishmash of gauges and indicators boldly hosts the rev counter and digital speedometer in an isolated central tunnel. The rest of the IP is cluttered with digital gauges: a battery charge meter, a fuel consumption indicator, a gearshift indicator and a bar showing whether the battery is being charged or assists the gas motor – along with the usual array of warning lights and standard gauges. Like with the Insight, the rev counter will light up in blue shades if you’re ruining the environment and lights up in cheery green if the mammals of the rain forest are happy with your driving. The central display will also be growing flowers over time if you keep it up.

2011 HONDA CROSSTOUR FOR SALE AT CLARINGTON HONDA AUTO POWERHOUSE LOCATED IN DURHAM, EAST OF TORONTO

At Clarington Honda located in Durham, within the GTA on highway 401 in Bowmanville. Honda is your thing, and the Accord specifically is your thing, but you just want a little more room and a little more “oomph”, then the 2011 Accord Crosstour is for you. Styled like a large car, but billed as a crossover SUV, the Crosstour is roomy, comfortable and offers high value for the money.

Open the door and you’re greeted with a familiar high-quality Honda interior, that reaches near luxury standards on EX-L trim models. Standard features on all models include dual-zone climate control with second row vents, a 10-way power driver’s seat with lumbar control and 4-way power passenger seat, 360-watt 7-speaker audio system, cruise control, a moonroof, auto up/down driver and front passenger windows and steering wheel audio controls. Upgrading to the EX-L trim adds a leather coated steering wheel and shift knob as well as leather seats with heated front seats and memory driver’s seat, as well as memory mirrors, plus an auto dimming rearview mirror.

Sliding into the driver’s seat is just that – a slide. It’s not up or down, but exactly at the perfect height. You notice this the most when exiting the vehicle as it still has the commanding driving experience of a crossover, leaving you to expect a step down.

The Crosstour is a four-door hatchback with a roofline that resembles that of a coupe. The wheelbase is virtually identical to the Accord sedan, though the body is somewhat wider and, of course, taller as well. Standard 17” or 18” wheels come on the Crosstour as do foglights and a sunroof. Though the look of the Crosstour is little like the Accord sedan, drivers will have no difficutly recognizing this vehicle from the inside.

The inside of the Crosstour gives a commanding ride height which is nice, interior room is quite large for all persons concerned, but cargo is another matter entirely. Lifting the hatch shows off the Crosstour’s 25.7 cubic feet of cargo space which is larger than the Accord’s. The interior is built much like a Honda Accord, and includes high-quality materials. The narrow, split-glass hatch, however, impedes rear visibility and must be manually opened and closed. Rear-seat headroom is adequate for six-plus footers. If the optional navigation system is purchased, its voice command capabilities are quite nice.

The 2011 Crosstour will continue to handle much like the Honda Accord does despite its additional bulk and weight. Refined steering and quite acceptable, even laudable handling are the order of the day. The V6 engine is sufficient to get the job done. Exterior road noise is kept to a minimum in the Crosstour which is a nice addition to the overall style and feel of the vehicle. The engine does come with Honda’s Variable Cylinder Management (VCM) system that allows it to run on 3, 4 or 6 cylinders, which helps deliver good.

Power for the Crosstour comes exclusively from Honda’s 3.5-liter V6 with an impressive 271-hp and 254 ft-lbs of torque. It’s more than enough grunt and compliments the vehicle’s low (for a crossover) center of gravity, tight steering and responsive pedals to deliver a dynamic drive well beyond the capability of its competitors.

Honda’s Real-Time four-wheel drive setup does help to deliver excellent road-holding attributes as well. The Real-Time setup only delivers power to the rear wheels when the front ones loose grip.

2011 TRX420FA
Honda’s 420FA 420cc liquid-cooled OHV wet-sump longitudinally mounted single-cylinder four-stroke engine, automatic/ESP five-speed transmission with direct mechanical shaft and Honda’s selectable 4WD/2WD and torque-sensitive front diff.
The lightweight auto transmission offers five-speed auto-shifting or push-button manual shifting with Honda’s Electric Shift Program. This means after the heavy-duty centrifugal clutch engages, two electronically controlled clutches mounted in the gearbox upshift or downshift, providing smooth and lurch-free gear changes.
The new auto also comes with independent double-wishbone rear suspension, which contributes to an increased ground clearance and better handling. The Electronic Power Steering option lowers the steering effort and reduces kickbacks when travelling over rocky terrain.

2011 TRX420PG Canadian Trail Edition
The TRX420PG CTE has electric power steering and the TRX420FG CTE with conventional steering, both with four-wheel independent suspension, and a new 5-speed gearbox with electronic clutch. The all-new, fully independent suspension will give the TRX420 models the same stability and comfort enjoyed by their 680-cc big brother. The TRX420 now features a new 5-speed automatic transmission, featuring automatic gear changes commanded by buttons on the left handlebar, and driver-selected two- and four-wheel-drive. Other than its unusual lightness, this transmission also uses two clutches. A first centrifugal clutch transmits power, while a second one provides managed slippage to help with smoother and more precise shifting. The gearbox and clutch system is electronically controlled to add reliability to the drivetrain.

2011 TRX500FM Foreman
The Foreman model is also available in manual or electric-shift trim. Each version is also available with power steering which means owners will have four options for the 475cc machine. The motor uses a 36mm carburetor and a sealed shaft drive. The rear end uses a straight axle but is suspended with dual shocks. Honda's Traxlok and torque-sensitive front differential provide selectable 2WD/4WD operation. It’s available in Red, Olive and Natural Gear Camouflage and has flexible fender flares.

2011 TRX500PG Canadian Trail Edition Rubicon
The Rubicon adds another spoonful of displacement and some additional technology. A fully automatic Hondamatic transmission negates the need for a clutch lever. The 499cc ATV uses a 92 x 75mm bore and stroke to churn out power to the front and rear wheels. It uses independent double wishbone front suspension and a straight-axle rear end with dual shocks. It’s also the smallest of Honda’s utility quads to offer GPScape. This feature provides GPS navigation wired directly into the machine for a constant power source, and integrated into the digital handlebar display with oversized buttons for better user interface. It gets the Traxlok system and comes in Red, Olive and Natural Gear Camouflage.

2011 TRX680F Rincon
Honda’s largest utility ATV is back again with a 675cc engine. This one trades in the carb for a fuel injection system and makes use of Honda’s automotive-style automatic transmission which uses a hydraulic torque converter to power forward and reverse gears. Fully independent suspension allows the rear end to articulate over obstacles and smooth out inconsistent terrain. It’s also the only work quad in the lineup to feature disc brakes front and rear. It’s available in Red, Olive and Natural Gear Camouflage.

2011 HONDA INSIGHT FOR SALE AT CLARINGTON HONDA AUTO POWERHOUSE LOCATED IN DURHAM, EAST OF TORONTO

At Clarington Honda located in Bowmanville, within the GTA on highway 401 in Durham Region. The 2011 Honda Insight Hybrid has a 1.0-liter, VTEC E three-cylinder gasoline engine with assist from the electric motor. It has many excellent features one of the things is its chassis, which weighs a 47 percent less than the previous generation Civic 3-door steel chassis. A lightweight alloy wheel enhances the vehicle’s efficiency (P165/65 R14). Its new body construction takes advantage of aluminum. Die cast aluminum joints connect the extruded aluminum frame components together, to which the roof, body and door panels are added. Also to reduce weight is a resin valve cover, intake manifold and pulleys are used. The 2011 Honda Insight has topped the fuel economy charts, earning the highest efficiency rating from the EPA for the fifth consecutive year.

The 2011 Honda insight, Integrated Motor Assist power train is a combination of a gasoline engines an electric motor. And five speed manual transmission. In the area behind the driver and passenger are the electronic controls for the system, the nickel metal hydride batteries and gasoline fuel tank.

2011 Honda Insight’s VTEC E system was designed to create a swirl effect in the cylinder. This allows the air-fuel charge to burn cleanlier for enhanced fuel efficiency and cleaner- emissions. The most significant changes for the Honda Insight will be in its interior enhancements. Owners of the previous model years were more than pleased with the Insight’s most important features.

Five-speed manual transmission produces 73 hp @ 5700 rpm and 79 foot-pounds of torque at 1500 rpm with up to approximately 1/3 of this torque being supplied by the electric motor. The 2011 2011 Honda Insight has an electric motor directly between the engine and transmission and is only 2.3 inches wide. The electric motor supplies additional power to the engine when it is needed during, deceleration. As in previous years, The 2011 Insight is available with either a 5-speed manual transmission or an advanced continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT), achieving EPA city/highway fuel economy ratings of 60/66 and 57/56 mpg, respectively.

The Insight’s IMA system also uses a unique “idle stop” feature that automatically turns off the engine when the car is not moving to reduce unnecessary fuel consumption and emissions. On models equipped with the CVT, the engine automatically restarts when the driver’s foot is removed from the brake, and on 5-speed models it restarts when first gear is engaged. The 2011 Honda Insight was designed by using a lightweight and aerodynamic aluminum body and chassis that delivers a low 0.25 coefficient of drag and a 40 percent reduction in weight versus conventional steel body components. This car offers an extensive assortment of standard features, anti-theft Immobilizes system and available automatic climate control, including anti-lock brakes, power windows and mirrors, electric power steering, dual air bags, power door locks with keyless entry.
